I didn't know, so I had to look it up. From this definition, it would appear that you can send & recieve messages from your PC, thru a SMS gateway.

I know what he said, but why can't he say it in plain
English, instead of talking like a network administrator, I
mean with all the things going on in the world, people
expect you to be a Doctor sometimes & a Network
Administrator another. All the technology I've seen
associated with Mobiles, you can use a PC in conjunction
with one, it's not usually sending/recieving e-mails, but
with some other support Computers have. Ironically, it's
Mobiles which can be harmful to your computer!

I know what ya mean. The original post was kind of an alphabet soup, with all it's gsm-this and sms-that, liberally spiced with php's, asp's and even the occaisional http. (Of course, I'm sometimes guilty of that myself, throwing around abreviations the way I do).

Well it's not your fault this time.

    Usually the e-mail protocol is:

    mailto://youaddress@yourISP.typeofbusiness.somewhere
