I am hoping to get my PDP-11 going again. Only been at it a couple of days and will proceed patiently (very grateful for the help received so far) but if unsuccessful, I'm toying with the idea of removing the cards and power supply (carefully storing them, of course) and installing a NUC inside the case. I can run simh on it with RSX-11M, and gain the benefits of vastly lower power consumption, higher performance, built-in Ethernet, etc. etc.
Intrigued by what could be done to retain the external appearance, for example wire the original power switch to power up the NUC, wire up a couple of I/O ports on the back, etc.
I'm wondering, has anyone here done this? I'd love to see the final results.
