There is a local computer recycler that i've saved in ebay as a favorite seller. They usually don't have much that i'm interested in, but they ALWAYS charge high for shipping so the things that they do sell, tend to be local pickups. Like I said before, most of their stuff, I have little interest in, except for the last 2 weeks. Here is everything i've bought:

mac LCII http://www.ebay.com/itm/321110485922 $11
mac SE30 http://www.ebay.com/itm/310654120101 $11
compaq portable http://www.ebay.com/itm/321110370669 $10
HP model 110 laptop http://www.ebay.com/itm/321107259093 $1
sharp pc 7000 laptop http://www.ebay.com/itm/321107223520 $10

they just sold a completely working one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/321110938373 for $250. This one seems to have a slight keyboard issue and a missing part, but it's probably going out of my price range as well. If nothing else, it is one hell of a cool looking terminal.

Very nice grabs! Love local stuff and saving on shipping. That DG perhaps will sell for less if folks already bid up on the first one but yeah I do think you'll probably have the runner up on the last auction rebid too.

Nice score!

Now you got me looking at my local ebay sellers now, and all I have to say is, HOLY CRAP, I think I found where all the old computers are at......

Not exactly "local" to me, but if I had a place to store all that stuff (and that kind of money), its "local" enough I would drive it, lol

Actually this is a lot more local for mbbrutman, maybe if he stumbles on this he can go "pick" that guy, I see mostly apple, but I do see a few IBM monitors, and there is mention of Model M keyboards ;-)

Wow. So close yet so far away. Austin yay! MN?! Doh! ;-) Interesting though. Can't quite tell if there's much good stuff in there for that price.. The caving in ceiling means there may be additional nature roaming around or moistening the equipment. But certainly fun to look through the pics still lol.

Actually the winning bid was $150. A bit pricey, but Data General is very cool. It did list at $2,290 in 1978 though.

Good luck with that.

Wow, that looks like a huge stack of IIGSes in one of the pictures! They might have more luck if they broke it up in to smaller lots. I don't think too many people (besides the seller, obviously) have that kind of storage space.

Of course, to me, it is always worth more if an item can be shown to have been stored in a nice dry air conditioned location for the last 30 years - unlike these.
