The NEC PC-8001A. I have one, with monitor, expansion unit, floppy unit, printer and branded cart. Got the whole thing for free. ;)

What I don't have is software. All I have is a single custom CP/M disk called NEC Report Manager System Disk.

Anyway, on archive.org there's a collection of software for the Japanese original. All of the images though are .D88 files, double sided. ( https://archive.org/details/Neo_Kobe_NEC_PC-8001_2016-02-25 ) The PC-8000A only has single sided drives. None of these images will work on the machine.

I can do some floppy-foo and get any of the CP/M software to run by using a blanked bootable copy of my System Disk along with SAMDisk and 22Disk. But what I cant get going is DiskBasic, or anything not CP/M.

Anyone have any help or experience in converting these images to single sided so they are writable with SAMDisk, ImageDisk or whatever so I can use the machine?

Or, I suppose, I could just get a Floppy Emulator.... but what's the fun in that?
