Finally bought a HP 59309A HP-IB digital clock! This is a little HP-IB module that's intended to provide clock/calendar to a computer, time to a stack of instruments, etc.:

It basically worked on arrival, except that after about an hour of keeping time, it suddenly showed the date as "11-33" instead of "11-13"! Turned out that the "minor corrosion" in the item's listing wasn't so minor after all, and had crept up one of the pins on one of the plug-in circuit card sockets. Here's the mess:

I cleaned it up today (detailed in writeup), and replaced the main filter electrolytic and two RIFA line filter capacitors while I had it apart. It's now running cooler than it was with the old filter cap in it. I'm thinking I will probably try and write time get/set programs for a number of the systems I've got with GPIB cards. Is anyone else running one of these little clocks?
