Hi,

At one point I had a nice collection of MicroVAX, PCs, Atari, Apple, and TI computers. They I went and bought a house and parted with it. I am starting to get back into it and recently picked up a Sparc Workstation, IBM RS/6000 320 and some pcs (not as old as I'd like). Would like to hear from anyone else in CT, MA, NY or RI.

John

I'm also in Connecticut and collect machines. I'm north of Hartford near the airport.

I run a Facebook group for collectors of vintage computers as well.

Dont peddle that facebook nonsense here!! This is a NICE place.

Also from Western CT here. What part of CT John?

Being on a Facebook group makes it easier for FB to find out other identities used unless one is very careful to use a different browser for FB only with other browsers for everything else.

Hope the OP in in center of CT because the other members form a ring towards the borders.

I find peoples blind reaction to defend Facebook nauseating Tipc.... It serves no purpose and its ridiculous how everyone tries to justify using such a superfluous thing. And that is all I am saying about it.

That aside, John never checked back in. His last logon was the end of DEC last year. I am just going to assume hes from Norwich or Sprague.... Just because.

I was not defending FB. I don't even use it ...

All I was saying was what's wrong with a vintage oriented FB group? You can take steps to quarantee your privacy. I had thought it might be a good place to sell some stuff as so many lemmings use it. If I ever get to that point, I'll use an entirely separate device only for FB. I actually have a FB account floating out in limbo somewhere. It's been 6+ years. I actually created another a couple back. Never once logged onto it, 2 weeks later checked the email account that I used to sign up. I was asked if I knew any of these people. Sure did! And promptly shut down the account.

As I've said, I'll buy a cheap tablet to sign onto FB for the sole purpose of unloading some stuff. I o/w have no interest in covorting with scads of morons.
