It's been a busy week for a change. Having cleared a number of systems (and with more getting staged to go) I somehow managed to add a few as well.

I don't have pictures yet, but I now have a Compaq III system (w/manual but no setup disk - gotta get one somewhere), another IBM PC (2 full height 5.25s, mono, etc.) and an Altos 5-15A with docs and software as well as a NEC Spinwriter and a Televideo 925.

Sometime soon I'll have the time to power these beasties on for a test run!

I downloaded the compaq portable III diags, it's sp308.exe, or the zip file thereof, and you run it on another pc to generate a disk image.
Ah that does 3.5" disks

oh yes sp216.exe does 5.25"

I replaced the duff battery with a really small cordless phone 3 cell nimh pack, and put a trickle charge resistor (and diode) from the nearest 5V rail.

Now I just need to set up my media conversion machine to get the files on 5.25! :D
