I got an Atari 800 a while back and the keys u-i-o-p- going to the return keys do not work. I popped off the keys and blew in some compressed air, but the copper was making contact when the keys were pressed. All other keys work. I opened the case to check for loose connections to no avail. Any easy way to check connections on a keyboard case - it's quite tight in there and I don't want to undo anything.

I haven't had my 800 apart all that much but it is tight in there. If I recall the keyboard assembly is removable intact. You might be able to set up a test situation where you can check continuity in the keyboard once it's removed.

You're probably better off finding another, though, and just replacing it. The Atari 800 isn't hard to find and you can often find "parts" machines from which you can get the keyboard. You might just find a machine that can replace yours and turn it into a parts machine. . .

Good luck!

Erik
