This is one of those, "you had to be there", things. I bought a 31 year old calculator off eBay and it arrived today.

You see, it was 1977 and this calculator - the TI-57 by Texas Instruments was the thing that kick started me into machines that could compute. It was a programmable calculator. The 'training' manual that came with the TI-57 was very well done and contributed to my quickly advancing and really outgrowing the TI-57. I moved on to a TI-58, then a TI-59, before stepping up to an actual computer in 1978, the Radio Shack Model 1. Anyway, I digress - what I have here is a 31 year old programmable calculator that is in perfect condition AND arrived with all it's accessories, the thick training manual, the charger, carry pouch, brochures, pad of programming sheets, and the original box.

Whoever bought this, rarely used it, if at all. It's just like new. It works just fine. I may need to replace the battery pack, but with the charger now, it's, well - back online :)
