I have this unit and would like to use it as DOS only machine -- running a program called PCFile --
In it's previous life the hard card was reformatted and is now blank -
It apparently needs an external floppy to load the OS on the hard card, which it does not have.
How difficult to find is this floppy, and how expensive would it be.
Presuming all is ok with the unit, is this all that would be needed to
get it operational ? -
The unit has a certain appeal for it's size and portability

thanks for any help --

The built in harddisk is simply a fat PCMICA (sp?) card. If you have access to a reasonably old laptop you can just pop the drive in there and put anything you want onto it.

Floppy with cable runs about $48 plus shipping on fleabay. The cable looks similar to the one used for some of the older thinkpads but I have no idea if a thinkpad floppy would work.

Jmann -- that is a good thought -- the mindset is to think of the hardcard as a drive rather than a card -

buggz -- I will try that as well -- though I am apprehensive about the connector - It is rather odd - at least to me --
