I recently aquired a Kaypro 16 in excellent shape:D. But I noticed a rattling noise coming from inside and opened up the case and found 2 loose screws just laying around. I removed the screws and found a molex cable inside which looks like a floppy drive power cable but only has 2 wires. One black and one white. Looking at the gauge of the wires I don't think it could be used for a floppy and besides theres only the 2 wires. Any ideas as to what it my be for? Otherwise the computer functions as expected. :)

Sounds like a fan connector to me. Have a look around for fans that don't spin.

Other thought is sound - does the machine beep? If not perhaps the speaker is disconnected. Other than that, I'm fresh out of ideas - just look around for a matching port.

If it really bugs you, you could get a multimeter, hook the ground to something, and tap each line to see what's going thru it if anything.. perhaps rig something up to monitor each line and then use the machine for various things? I'd just leave it disconnected though - lol - way too lazy for that madness.
