Hey all,

My first post and already pestering you all for information.. ;)
I am restoring a T1000SE, it has been living outside in the rain at my local PC dump.
Surprisingly there is no corrosion inside.

I have tried to power it up but all I get is the red "DC Power" light.

I stumbled across a website that stated that this model will not run without a good battery, whether using the AC Adaptor or not.
Is this correct?

If so, can I substitute the battery with another power adaptor for testing purposes?

I am also keen to repack the battery, has anyone managed to dismantle the plastic casing without ruining it?

Ill post some pictures for you all soon. 8)

Cheers
Ash

I recall having the same issue with the XE and found a lot of helpful “ old ” posts on this site + some website info. So just do a search.

I did get one of my spare batteries to charge after many years of not being used.

But the HD crashed and that is difficult to replace, so I moved on to other projects.

There are some places that still offer older computer batteries, HD, etc. - just do a Google search. Some are reasonably priced – just trying to get something for them.

Good luck !

Frank
