Hi all,

I have an old Thinkpad 510CS I need a hand with. My main questions are:

What kind of RAM does it take? I'd like to max it out at 20MB.

The hinges have become loose. Is there any way to tighten them?

And the CMOS battery is toast, anywhere I can get a replacement?

Thanks for your help!

1) I believe it takes IC DRAM cards
2) Hinges should be tightenable if you open the screen up.
3) I think the CMOS battery is soldered to the board in this model but don't swear me to it. I know it is somewhat directly mounted on the mainboard. Open it up and check for yourself. There is a Hardware Maintenance manual for that machine.

Thank you for the information!

I found an 8MB IBM DRAM card for cheap on eBay, but it's 70ns. What data I could find said it needed to be 80ns. Would this still work?

Also is there a PDF copy of the service manual anywhere? I'm struggling to figure out how to get the screen apart.

Thanks
