So i have been collecting some Toshiba laptops over the past, going strong for now at 11 working machines and 2 dead ones. i will see and update my website www.reboot-ict.com in the next weekend.

As for now i have amongst some others: T1910 & T1910 broken, 530CDT, 2550CDT, 4000CDT, 4030CDT & 4030CDS, Tecra 8000, L10-144 (the rest i have to check what types they are)

I am going to install all with the default OS which they came with.

Very cool!!

Although I'm more of an IBM Thinkpad kinda guy, I have a couple old Toshibas also. T1910 with a color screen and its neat little retro proprietary mouse. I have mine boot to a DOS 6.22 prompt, if I type WIN, it will boot into windows 3.1, or if I CD C:/Windows95/ and then type WIN, it will boot into Windows95. Fun little machine.

Think my other Toshiba is a t4100cdt? If my memory serves me right. That one needs a backlight, and a cmos battery. It boots, but the battery leaked all over the place, so I just removed it for the time being. Its built like a tank, easy to work on, and has both a built in floppy drive and cd-rom. Which I like.

Anyhow, looking forward to updates :)

I have a small Toshiba collection as well. Never expected to amass a collection. All of the computers have their original factory operating system, as well as the original documentation. Here are some of my finds over the past 4 years:

  1. T1900CS-1993
  2. T1960CS-1994
  3. T4700CT-1995
  4. T2150CDT-1995
  5. T2450CT-1995
  6. Tecra 730XCDT-1996(NOS, in original box)
  7. Tecra 8100-2001(NOS, in original box)
  8. Satellite 4020CDT(NOS, in original box)

Some of them took time to locate, such as the original documentation on the T4700CT. I recently located the original Media Tour CD for the T2150CDT, which is tough to find, as most folks would lose it. I got the T2150CDT in 2017. This, it took well over 3 years to find one. I just need to find a few more documents on the T2150CD series to complete it. This is my favorite vintage computer in the collection. I wanted one when they first came out in 1995. But I was not willing to pay over $4K for an active matrix model at the time. If at all possible, I hope to find the original box package that the T2150cdt came with to complete the history of the model.

My Toshiba story begins with drooling over advertisements of the T1100+ I saw in magazines well before I had any money to buy one! The company I worked for back in the 90's split the expense of one and I got a T4700CS which I worked that thing to death. It began with DOS/Windows 3.1, moved to NT 3.51, then NT 4. I did C development on it with Turbo C / Borland C. I remember even having Stacker on it before I replaced its 320 MB drive with a whopping 1.3 GB drive.

I picked up a T4700CT a couple of years ago that works well although sometimes it hangs with floppy drive access. I also got A T1000XE that I was able to get a memory card working in, but its floppy is dead. I plan to replace it with a GoTek, but it is going to take some manual soldering of wires because it has an oddly sized flat flexible cable. Thankfully I have the connector at the end of it to use.

I have a satellite T2115CS that worked like five years ago when I last turned it on if you are interested.

I think that i have couple of T1200. My favorite is Libretto 50, but it has broken screen, T1950ct with broken floppy cable. Also have Satellite 210cdt? with cd and floppy. Also a Tecra 780 Dvd. By big mistake i throw away both big docking stations with isa, pci, scsi, two 5.25" places etc. Used to play rally games when its was pretty new with dock installed 3d card and steering wheel with pedals and big tv :) Had a Tecra 750 Dvd and Tecra 8000 or 8100 long ago from work. Tried to oc one of the Tecra 8xxx with radeon igp but it broke down very fast. Off topic: Tecra 750 and 780 were very hard to get 3d and dvd output working if you upgraded the Os. Hoping to find new screen for Libretto 50 and floppy cable for T1950. Pm me if you can help.
