Osborne 3- with a serious add-on!

here are the pics from the auction
the case is hugely expanded, looks like aluminum, with a big fan, and some slots for ISA cards I guess.

Even if it were an Osborne 3... did the shambling zombie apparition that was the Osborne company do anything more than just slap their label on the Morrow Pivots before shoving them out the door?

It's kind of amusing that the picture of an Osborne 3 on oldcomputers.net actually shows the sticker with the name of the machine (which also includes the contact pads for the touch-sensitive function keys) starting to peel off...

good point. I guess that XCEL may have OEMm'd a version of the Morrow Pivot for their own use. It certainly does not say Osborne 3 anywhere.

The add seems to imply that the entire computer is from XCEL, and they offer kits for Z171, Pivot etc.

But the kit doesn't seem to do all that much for me. I was hoping it was 80286 or something.

(1) I have my own XT-CF card, so no need for the 20MB HDD (2) I have already added the 8087 and (3) I already have 1MB RAM.
I just don't have spare ISA slots... and I think I am fine with that!
