Does anyone experience problems lining up the Mac 128/512k floppy drive?

I've had several problems trying to put in floppy disks in the past in my Mac 128k. They would seize halfway into the slot from friction. It turned out the drive was ever-so-misaligned with the drive slot, by quarter-milimeters, so I have to use washers to align it, and even that doesn't seem to work.

Has anyone else had that problem?

sounds like the drive needs to be disassembled and cleaned. the grease used probably gunked up from age, and will need to be cleaned off and regreased.

No, see, I've already done that. The drive itself is lubricated and working. It's the misalignment of the computer's casing slot and the drive slot that's causing the friction seizing.

I had that issue on my Lisa. For some reason even after I squared up the drive cage and verified the front bezel was on correctly the mouth was skewed in such that it would hit the trim. In the case of a Lisa you have large spacers you can file down a tiny bit but those are not on the mac.
Verify if your mounts are bent.
