Disk Lock

Bought a mac classic the other day but it has Disk Lock on it. No matter what I do it still is asking for the password. (previous owner has no clue what it is). I have tried many of the keyboard shortcuts but to no avail. It boots fine with several of my boot disks but only after 3 failed password attempts.

Does anyone know how to get past this other than reformatting the hd?

Ick, didn't know Mac had that feature and honestly never saw it until the xbox. You might try contacting the harddrive manufacturer and see if they will offer you a tool for it. I assume you've tried no password? But I would call since your number of attempts are a bit futile. I'm not sure if it's at all the same but you could search around for the xbox drive unlock hacks but again I kinda think it's unique to cracking just the xbox protection scheme.
