PS/2 Model 60 won't boot reference disk

Recently I acquired a PS/2 Model 60 and as far as I can tell all of the hardware is working correctly minus the HDD as this machine didn't come with one. It boots up fine and passes the RAM check. The only errors I get are 161 and 163. Meaning all I should need to do is run the reference disk.

I wrote the Model 60 reference image to a disk and when I insert it I can hear the drive spin up and it does attempt to read the disk but after the RAM check I get the same errors and then it hangs. I disassembled the disk drive and the head does make proper contact with the disk. The only issue I have is sometimes the disk won't stay in the drive correctly and I have to wiggle it a bit in order to get it to stay in. Any help would be appreciated.

I suspect the capacitors on the drive have leaked leading to the problem. If you have the proper tools they're not difficult to replace and, if the leakage hasn't damaged the circuit boards, should resolve the issue.
