After you clean the case up you could rent it out as a small apartment? I don't think my first dorm room was that big. She's in pretty rough shape but might clean up nice.

That's a little on the dusty side.:) The 4DX2-66V is essentially a 4DX2-66E with the power buttons on top instead of in the middle.

The motherboard is also smaller in the 4DX2-66V so the 3.5" bays can be used without having to remove the motherboard. Though my DX2-66E has the same power buttons as this 66V; I guess Gateway did a lot of minor variations.

to me that power supply is a gem. gotta love the first "brand" of power supply to actually have a notion of quality.

That power supply looks like a TANK, I bet its vastly UNDER rated, not like PS's these days that are vastly OVER rated, I bet that 220 watt could handle a 300 watt load better than a cheap 400 watt found in some modern machines, lol.

Yes, I have two [2] of them - one tower and one desktop - " monsters " compared to today - just got Toshiba netbook - 10" screen - so tiny - great to use while waiting in line for so many things - super for productivity.

But served us so very well in their time !

Then today flash drives / memory cards - compared to 5.25" and 3.5" disks !!!

Enjoy - life if great !!!

Frank

Wow, That front bezel is horrific :p. I've seen videos of people putting computer parts in dishwashers and they come out pretty nice. Or, maybe a hot soapy dunk with a good scrub brush. What's a good way to remove the yellowing from the plastic?
