As may be others have some obscure 8" Floppy disks that they have no use for.
So I am Looking for some software for the DATAPOINT 1800 machine.

Especially a DOS v2.4 , or the DOS-G V2.6 as I have it incomplete.

It is an obscure format probably M2MF.
There for I am not able to share my disks it over the internet,
but a copy can be made if you sent a disk, as f.i. a trade.

Here is my machine, still working.

Hi Maurice!

I also have a Datapoint 1800, unfortunately not the full system, only the terminal itself.
From the research I've done, the 1800 (and other datapoint systems) could write to normal IBM 3740-compatible 8" floppies, but had their own formatting system as you said.
Digging deeper into the documentation (thank god for bitsavers), the formatting was 77 tracks, 26 sectors per track, sector size 128 Bytes, 250,000 bitrate and 360RPM. You can read more at this link (Bitsavers PDF, from a different system but should still have the same format I believe; http://www.bitsavers.org/pdf/datapoint/disk/Diskette_Memory_Data_Sheet.pdf).

As for software, all I can offer is what's found at Bitsavers' archives, which you can find HERE.

I don't have DOS v2.4 nor DOS-G v2.6, but I do have (as far as I know) a complete set of DOS-H floppy images, let me know. As far as I know the DOS-H I have is technically for a Datapoint 1500 system, but it might be compatible, who knows?

I hope this helps!

PS: Since I am lacking a lot of knowledge regarding the dual floppy drive, if you have the manual for that or any documentation whatsoever (or just pictures of the inputs / outputs / circuitry) I would love it if you could share - My dream is to make this old Datapoint work again :D
