I have here a PC Convertible sans PSU. Unless someone has a power supply to sell or trade, I'm going to need to know a few things so it can be tested.. like:

Voltage / current. I've read 15V / 2.3A, is that right?

Connector dimensions. ID & OD of the barrel jack

Connector polarity. +/- are inner/outer?

Thanks for any help

Sigh.. why yes, it does. Thank you.

So the spec says 15VDC @ 2.7A but I'm not sure how the current spec applies, here. The 5140 is a modular system wherein all of the modules ("slices") piggyback on the same PSU.

Point being, I'd think that the main unit requires some fraction of the 2.7A total - question is, how much? Guess I'd better measure it..

So I took some current measurements and here's what I learned. All figures are approximate.

Basic system at idle, no accys. - 265mA
Basic system at idle, with composite video module - 400mA.
Active disk drive read access - add 200mA

These figures presumably include internal battery charging current. Still need to take a reading with the LCD removed and composite module installed. But clearly, the machine doesn't require anything like the PSU max. for typical operation.
