Hi all,

I have a Toshiba T3100e that has a few issues that i want to fix, the problem is I cant figure out how to get the case open. I have removed the 4 screws from the bottom of the case and it will still not come apart. Is there something that I am missing? Also what type of CMOS backup batter doe it use?

Any help would be appreciated, i do not want to damage it.

Matt

4 screws? Only 3 in mine (unless you're counting one in the back).

There are two latches inside the slot in front of the spacebar; carefully push those toward the front while lifting the keyboard and it should release. You'll see the battery just behind the rear of the keyboard opening; I replaced mine with a 2xAA battery holder.

Dismantling the rest of it is more complicated and unless you have to get at the hard disk I wouldn't recommend it.

Look around the forum; there are several threads about the T3100e.
