I have another complete set of extender and receiver cards for an IBM 5161 expansion unit. I am short on one other key component needed to build another expansion unit. What I need is the planar. Once I have a planar, I can collect the rest of the parts to complete another build.
After the planar, I'll need a 5160 power supply, MFM hard drive controller, cable, and 5160 case. I'm not worried about these though. Not until I have a planar. Looking at several resources, I actually found someone on the web who occasionally gets these parts. His prices are a bit high, but if that's the only way to get the planar, then I'll pay it.
Does anyone here either have a spare 5161 planar, or possibly know where I might be able to locate one? Yes, I know, these are just as difficult as locating, or perhaps even more-so, than locating an expansion unit extender card. I can only hope.
