/IOCS16 still asserted by CF cards?

Does anyone know if /IOCS16 (meant to be asserted by IDE / ATA devices when a 16bit data port is being addressed) is still (or was ever) implemented by CompactFlash cards? I am working on a prototype and relying on this signal would greatly simplify my design!

It depends on the card features. The CF Card 2.0 specification allows for three modes: memory, PC Card and True IDE. Pin 24 assumes different roles in each case.
