Hello!
A few weeks ago i got an IBM ps/2 50z.The system was complete and relatively clean!
I powered it on and after bypassing a few errors PC-DOS 3.3 booted from the original EDSI hard drive:D:D
Unfortunately the floppy was dead ,as it is often with those machines due to faulty caps.
Fortunately a friend of mine recapped the drive and it is now working like a charm;)

Now i want to change the battery witch is obviously dead after all those years!
I have heard stories of people that after changing the battery , their systems wouldn't POST!
I have the reference disk for the machine so i can set it up if the config is lost ..... so theoretically i should be fine.
Also my battery is a CR-P2 and not the Dallas real time clock.

So is there anything else to do before pulling the original battery out?
