In Czechoslovakia before 1989 year was quite popular IBM PC/XT clone named PP06. Less well know fact is, that there also exist clone of IBM PGC card for this computer.
As I know, only two card were produced and my friend have one in loan from another collector. This card used newer IBM PGC bios from 1985 and consist from three full (PP06 not classical IBM) cards.

My wife is from the Czech republic. When she was young (during communism) Her first computer was a ZX spectrum her father bought on the black market. Which I find ironic since there were so many Russian zx spectrum clones. If it was a IBM clone how much was it and who was it marketed to?

Unfortunately, I cant respond to your questions, i dont have idea :) About software, PP06 was IBM compatible machine and work with common DOS software, so I believe that programs for IBM PGC also worked with this card.

I can see chips from 1988...
By then, with VGA and 8514/A, PGC was already obsolete.
But it was typical for the Eastern Bloc to be several years behind the West.

Yes, it use unmodified ROM, newer version from 1985 ibm_59X7354_pgc_u43.bin and ibm_59X7355_pgc_u44.bin
