Rockwell 6765 controller

Hi,
In the Zenith Z-171, the floppy disk controller is an R6765. It controls 2 5.25 DD floppies.

I dont see a reason why these floppies could not be swapped for standard PC 720k/1.44M 3.5 inch floppy drives. Am I missing something?

Of course they would only ever be 720k DD 3.5 drives as the controller does not support HD.

Any thoughts from the crowd?

The Rockwell 6765 is essentially a NEC D765 clone, so the disks should be compatible with the D765.

thanks, seems to work. DRIVPARM is a nice function! helps to work around the Z-171 BIOS.
