To start, I want to thank the fellow at minuszerodegrees.net for creating such a comprehensive site, which lead me to being able to bring my 5150 back to life!

That said, I have a 5160 that I got recently and it has some odd things. First off is that it has a music card in it. I then went to minuszerodegrees.net and could not find any pictures in the cards area so I wanted to share them here in case he would like them.

Now the question, the 5160 that the music card is in has a aluminum badge/sticker right under the speaker as you can see in the picture. Then, it has an odd processor, at least I think so.

Now, i try to collect cpu's so I am wondering if I should replace it with an amd 8088, which I have an extra? Or is that cpu different in some way that the computer "wouldn't like it"?

And finally, any ideas on the number under the speaker?

In closing, I am very appreciative of this site. I am rather green to the scene and I sure people come here with 30 years of experience and I have been treated very well. Thank you for that.

For reference, the first 5 pictures of the music card. The last 2 are of the badge/sticker and of the odd cup.

The CPU is essentially the same under the epoxy. AMD manufactured (as did IBM and others) under license from Intel.

If you wanted to try something different, it'd be a NEC V20 (D70108), which runs somewhat faster for the same clock and has additional instructions.

I'm not familiar with the Music card.

That badge is found inside some of the later XTs (256-640k model). Your CPU is an IBM branded one ... less common than the Intel and AMD ones.

The music card is made in Japan, not an IBM option card. If you search google for the FCC ID, you might be lucky and find the manufacturer.

I looked it up. It actually is an IBM Music Card.

It is odd having Made in Japan on an IBM product, but I guess they just had their IBM Japan crew build it.
I didn't know these were available in ISA.

Edit: also found it on wikipedia, photo of the same card https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_Music_Feature_Card

Yeah, you really lucked out -- the IBM Music Feature Card is a rare card that sold for $700 33 years ago, and you can probably sell it for close to that today on Ebay to collectors. If you want to play with it, the software and other materials are here: ftp://ftp.oldskool.org/pub/drivers/IBM/IMFC/ Very few games supported it; a mostly-complete list is here: https://www.mobygames.com/attribute/sheet/attributeId,22/p,2/

Yeah that's what I have found reading about the card. I'll take random luck anytime I can get it. The dilemma is what I do with it. I don't really plan on using it. I am leaning towards trying to trade it for a 4004 intel, which would be the crown of my small cpu collection. Who knows!!!
