I don't think i'm properly creating the files needed for the IBM 5150 to run off the Gotek floppy drive emulator. I'm running flashfloppy and i've grabbed DOS v1.10 from this website.

I used the hxC floppy Emulator software to convert my IMD to a HFE file and put it into the root of my directory of my USB drive. The Gotek can read the file because i don't get a F-F error and i can circle through the images i have on the card.

But when i boot up the computer and hit Ctrl + Alt + Del i don't think it reads anything because the screen just blinks and returns back the basic prompt. I also don't see the green light turn on ever.

I'm guessing i have it wired up. I have S1 jumper on, JC jumper on and i'm connecting it with a old 5.25 drive cable that has the 3.5 drive cable inline. I had to cut the bottom part of the connector to make the 3.5 drive connector fit but it seemed to be that the bottom part of the connector is all ground so i didn't t

Reprogram Gotek, load Flash Floppy.

Flash Floppy reads a lot of images. It is easy to use. You don't need to convert.
I used 360K, 720K, 1.44M images. I used for Amiga 500, 600, 1200. I used for Atari 1040STE, Mga STE. Works perfectly.

I see that the Ms-DOS v1.x images are 160KB which I never tried. Have you tried with a 360KB image, like the ones with MS-DOS 3.2?

If you have the possibility I'd try first the drive in a more modern PC (486, Pentium, etc..) to discard any cable problems or jumpers problem.

Take a look at here https://retrocomputing.stackexchange.com/questions/9383/gotek-drives-for-ms-dos-plus-few-more-constraints

I remember using just one ore two jumpers, but I don't think JC was one o them (it's not documented). The JA and MO ones seem to make moere sense.

Now I get to bring an old thread back from the dead. Got S0 confused with another jumper. Got a OLED Gotek working on a 5150 with the first firmware revision, able to boot both 160KB and 360KB images.
