Getting Artisoft AE-2/C working with IBM XT

DOS 3.2

I had no luck with the 3com 503c, so I ordered an Artisoft AE-2/C. I have it hooked up to a transceiver on the AUI port.

I am using the ne2000.com driver from
http://crynwr.com/drivers/

I followed the jumper settings from

However, w5 A-H area is differenty. (see pic)

I was able to finally load ne2000 with the following settings:

ne2000 0x60 4 0x320

It displays the correct software interrupt, IRQ, and I/O port. However, after it assigns the ethernet address, the pc hangs. Not even CTRL-ALT-DEL works. I have tried various IRQ and IO ADDR. Checkit shows that IRQ 4 is available.

I am not sure what to try at this point. Any ideas?

I got this working thanks to glitch in the IRC channel. It turns out I needed to use ne2000.com that was patched for 8bit which I found here: http://www.vcfed.org/forum/showthread.php?41081-NE2000-Packet-drivers-for-8-bit-slots
