I'm looking for a couple 24 pin sockets so I can add a monitor prom to my Northstar. Does anyone have a couple? I'd pay for it and shipping. Most electronics dealers have a $25 minimum order.
If you can afford to wait a week or two, there are several Chinese sellers on eBay who will sell machine-pin socket strips fairly cheaply. Just search for "round female header". Just snap off however many contacts you require.
I purchased 24 pin sockets from China. They arrived and found that they were the "narrow" version. I guess the middle of these could just be cut off and the socket split in two. That way I could just solder on the two headers separate.
The only problem is I'm using the sockets to create a 2708 -> 2716 EEPROM adapter. So I don't think splitting one in half would work nicely.
Thanks for the idea. I actually found some with .6" row to row spacing cheap on Ebay that I think should work.
