Just finished writing up my efforts in getting CDOS bootstrapped with a Cromemco 4FDC:

Dave Dunfield wrote a tool to transfer CDOS to disk using the RDOS monitor, but it turns out to be incompatible with the earlier version of RDOS. Fortunately, his images were still usable with the 4FDC, and the general idea gave me enough to go on to hack together a Perl script and accomplish the goal. Much thanks to Herb Johnson in figuring out if this was feasible/getting it going!

I'm planning on writing a less-hacked-together utility suite for high-speed boostrap/disk read/disk write. Anyone else have 5.25" Cromemco media to image?

I'll be imaging them, I have a 386 set up to do it. I also have kryoflux, and others. It is the high speed boot part that caught my attention.

Hello from Marcus in Switzerland.

What you have achieved is very impressive. I do have quite a few Cromemco Images already up on our website. But I have a somewhat trivial request to you and others ....

It is regarding RDOS hex images/ dumps from your xFDC Cromemco Floppy Disk Controllers.

Would it be possible to dump your RDOS ROM and email it in hex format (or some other ASCII to me)

There is where it will go

I'm especially interested in the very earliest ROMs and the very last ones!

Also, as a collector and data squirrel, please send me any diskette images for me to save on our website too. Please send to REQUEST at majzel dot com

Thanks Marcus B
