So I'm in the process of trying to understand why my Helios II setup works on one SOL-20 and not another. It was tested in a friends Sol-20, but I haven't yet tried it in my spare one myself. His sol and mine have had the ECN performed to bring them from rev'D' to rev'E' to support the Helios, but I'm suspecting I have a DMA issue on mine. The head on the Helios loads and then unloads as it tries to use DMA to transfer the boot sector.
I have a copy of SIMU to test the drive but I can't find an ENT or audio file version of DISKT. The only copy I have found of DISKT which you can use to troubleshoot DMA is on hartetechnolgies but is actually an image file not a real bin file.
So assuming I can't get a copy of DISKT, anyone know a good way to start troubleshooting a DMA issue.
