(Brand new) GGLABS CGA2RGBv2 digital RGBI to analog RGB converter for Commodore 128 or 128D, Tandy 1000 series and IBM PC (CGA/EGA/MDA).
Latest version C02 with female VGA connector and support for CGA, EGA and MDA (both white and green).

DB9M input and HD15F output

Requires a monitor that can sync to 15KHz, or a scan doubler or scaler (e.g., Gonbes GBS-8200/8220, Open Source Scan Converter).

Requires 5V DC for power.

DIP switch to select mode and jumper to select composite vs. separate sync.

CGA palette handles intensity and handles brown correctly.

Compatible with the Gonbes GBS-8200/8220 (not included) for a complete C128 80 column to VGA/LCD solution.
If used with a GBS-8200 and power is taken from the GBS-8200 P9 please make sure you power the GBS -8200 with 5V as the converter will be damaged by higher voltage.

If i connect my IBM 5155 with CGA card and your product for a lcd vga, it work ?

I need to connect this product to GBS8200 or may i connect directly to LCD VGA without GBS ?

Thanks in advance.

I'll answer, since the OP only has 2 posts and this was back in August (I doubt he'll be back).

It's only a digital to analog RGB converter. It doesn't do any scan doubling, so you'll be getting a 15khz analog RGB signal out the rear end of the thing.

Some LCD monitors can sync that low, but many can't. It just depends on the monitor. VGA signals start at 31khz.

So the answer is "it depends". Try it on your LCD. If your LCD won't lock onto the signal then yes, you'll have to use a scan-doubler or resampler like the GBS-8200.

I just received the CGA2RGB, it works fine on my IBM 5155 with the GBS-8200 and without the GBS-8200 with a 15khz LCD (NEC 71VM).
