Never thought it would happen, but I have run out of enthusiasm, I guess, for keeping up the old machines, so I'm putting my spare parts on the market.

If you need RAM, 360k or 1.2meg floppy drives, monochrome/parallel cards, CGA/parallel cards, EGA card, graphics card that will do all CGA graphics on a mono monitor, multifunction cards, ports, CGA or TTL monitors, an IBM XT, 386/486/Pentium1 machines, NICS, transceivers, hard drive controllers, motherboards, hard drives, 8 and 16 bit tape drive controllers, SCSI cards, vintage modems, etc., give me a shout.

San Jose, CA.

I was asking so that interested parties could figure out if they'd need to ship or not.

I might want some of the stuff. I need some PC SSDD and DSDD drives for my machines (full height, black face, IBM logo) as well as at least 1 1.2 MB or 360K HH drive for my AT.

I could also be interested in an EGA card (IBM) and an EGA Monitor (again IBM) and maybe even the XT if it's clean, working and comes with docs.

Good point.

I'll get to work putting a list together, and get as specific as I can.

I even have a rare B/W VGA monitor that I was going to use on my server, but it's still wrapped in plastic on the shelf.

I'll be in touch.

Thanks.

Ed

While most people might not be looking for anything, browsing a list jogs their memory into buying things they didn't know they wanted.

That link didn't work either for some reason.

Email me the list at the webmaster account at this domain (the stuff after the www but before the slash) and I'll post it.

Thanks,

Erik

Whew! That's quite a list.

Blame it on the phpBB editor. For some reason, no matter how many tabs or spaces you use in your post, it truncates them all into a single space. Go figger!

Cleaning out the IBM PC XT/AT Closet

Erik,

Thanks for posting the list. As soon as I get to the next level, I might add some more. I just uncovered my 100 MHz O-scope, an AT Flip-Top server case with power supply, an external 5-1/4" SCSI drive housing with power supply, etc. I forgot to list the 30 and 72 pin RAM modules. I even have some RAM chips, I think from an AT. I haven't counted them or taken them out of the bag in a while, and, as usual, I never labeled it, so I'll have to figure out how much there is (memory chips vs. parity chips).

Thanks, again. I'll let you know when I update the list. If the link works for everyone, I'll keep using it that way - www.geocities.com/ed_9213

Most of the 'relics' are hard to find these days, and don't get enough attention or bids to make it worth the time to eBay them.

Even though machines in the XT era were made in the millions I suspect quite a large percentage got recycled a long time ago. While there are many fans of Macs, Amiga's, and other machines from that time alot of people look down on the first PC's and don't keep them around.
