Hi.
I just upgraded a couple external Apple 3.5 drives to superdrive status
and now I have two extra internal 3.5" DD floppy drives.
These DD floppy drives can be used in either an old Macintosh which did
not support the HD superdrive, or in an Apple 3.5 external drive which
has a defective mechanism. If you use them in an external, you will
need to swap top-covers with the defective mechanism and remove the
plastic thing(you'll know what it is when you see it)
I briefly tested them by booting from them on my 512ke Mac before
disassembling the 3.5 drives. They do work... though you'll want to
clean them out(very dusty) before putting them in for good.
$5 each. Plus $8 shipping/handling per package within the USA. (As in,
$8 for shipping one, or $8 for shipping both.)
If someone expresses interest from outside the USA, I am willing to get
a shipping estimate.
Thank you.
