I agree that seems like a lot for an 840AV!

The last few I've seen have gone for the $150 - 250 range on EBAY.

That said I'd be open to going higher than that for the right machine - appreciate the responses - anybody got one sitting and just needs the right price?
 
I have one working 840av (had to recap it) and a second with a funky motherboard (recap didn't fix it). They all have some yellowing but not too bad, but the plastics are brittle (and whitening them would not help that out at all).
