Hi there I found out that changing the L2 Cache from 256KB to 1024KB will make a huge performance boost on my powermac 6100/66.
Obviously there will ony be third party modules available while apple never produced such big l2-cache dimms.

I would love to buy a 1024KB Dimm L2 Cache for my PM6100.

Payment will be paypal, location is germany.

Thank you very much for helping me out.

If your dos compatibility card is in the right angle PDS riser, there are G3 upgrades which replace the riser board and still have a PDS slot so you can use PDS cards.

Now I know what you mean, but I don't understand the manual:

http://www.sonnettech.com/support/downloads/manuals/crescendo_nubus_manual.pdf

The Dos-Compatible is not mentioned as "compatible" and the manual only says:
Remove PDS Card
Locate the PDS slot (Figure 3) located next to the ROM card. If there is a PDS card already installed (such as the 6100 DOS card), remove it.
There is no talking about putting it back in after upgrading with the G3. I understand this as, Dos-Card not usable after upgrading.

Am i wrong here?

From the diagram, it looks like the G3 upgrade card has a right angle PDS slot on it, meaning a PDS card can still be plugged into the G3 upgrade. But I guess for whatever reason, the DOS card doesn't play nice with the G3 upgrade.
