I have two older Dell laptops an M6500 and an Inspiron 9300 (actually I have 5 of the 9300). They are both outdated, Windows 7 and XP respectively. Both have Autocad installed and I want to keep that option viable. I need someone to set them up as dual boot Windows/Linux machines. I have tried and failed to make this happen myself. When I read the Linux Mint forums it seems to be largely people who are smarter than me having problems making it work.......I am happy to pay someone to take the laptops and set them up so they work and are useable. Can anyone of you help?
 
I sent you a PM. I've done several Dual Boots, but not on Win 7 or Win 10. XP was the last OS I used
as Dual Boot. Windows may not play well with Linux now.

Shouldn't take too long to find out.
You will need LiveCD's of:
1. Gparted https://gparted.org/livecd.php
2. Clonezilla https://clonezilla.org/clonezilla-live.php
3. SuperGrub 2 LiveCD now Rescatux https://www.supergrubdisk.org/super-grub2-disk/
4. Hiren's Boot Live CD https://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd
5. Linux Install ISO for 32 or 64 Bit (with your choice of Desktop).

32bit Win7 plays well with dual-boot. I'm running a triple-boot P4 system with Ubuntu 32-bit, Win7 32-bit and Win98SE. No issues--just be sure to install Linux after Win7, so Win7 doesn't over-write the Grub bootloader.

It's not difficult.

Thanks for the reply and info. I may give it a try, but most of you have sent me is Greek.....I don't know about this kind of thing. I'd be happy to start with the 9300 XP machine. I only use it now for Autocad drawing which is the only reason I want to keep Windows. I'll let you know if I have any success. I'd be happy to pay you or anyone else you may know who could do the install and send me back a working Linux/Windows machine.
