Need a condensed theme for the site

We should have more themes to pick from for the site than just the default theme, as the default theme wastes a lot of vertical whitespace. The default theme for the site uses a fixed minimum amount of vertical whitespace no matter how small the post/reply is:

This makes sparse threads very tedious to read:

In the old forum theme, post boxes only took up as much space as they needed to, making dense threads very easy to read.

I think it's better now that the share buttons are out, as that reduces the minimum height of the side panel.

Another way to make things more compact vertically - make it wider horizontally to take advantage of larger monitors; less wrapping and less waste of screen real-estate overall.

FWIW, my offer for help in implementing visual changes is still open.

And I still don't understand the purpose of the bar graph. Only a handful of people show any indication on it, and it doesn't seem to correspond to their number of posts or length of membership. Mousing over it just reveals an incredibly useless tooltip saying "will be famous soon enough".

It's some sort of reputation system, and I think it ties into the number of "likes" you get on any given post. But I am not sure about this.

Why do we have have it and is it needed? Also, of all things, location would be a good thing.

I'm not asking for customizations on the current theme; I'm asking for a better theme. There is way too much wasted vertical padding; it makes reading threads extremely tedious. Hopefully this is evident in the screenshots I posted at thread start.

I did some digging and found that vb5 **removes** this ability and you must add it back in yourself. It's called a "horizontal postbit": https://forum.vbulletin.com/forum/vb...ontal-post-bit

That article contains a link to https://vbmods.rocks/forum/vbulletin...postbit-layout which has CSS that can fix this for the desktop rendering. It's also gone from mobile rendering, but I'm not sure how to force mobile rendering when viewing the site on a desktop.
I can't see any screenshots or code in either thread, at least not without registering... but see https://www.vcfed.org/forum/forum/co...47#post1206747.

Maybe it's similar to what they mean by a "horizontal postbit", maybe not, but it does cut down on the vertical space-waste.
