Weird video noise artifacts on an old laptop

Toshiba T4700CT, with 1MB video card.

When a flash or similar effect happens, I see dots on the screen. This also happens on transitions between screens. Same story on the external monitor. Take a look, DOOM, but it happens in other games.

Got answer on vogons:

This looks like palette update "snow", which is perfectly normal occurence on many video chipsets.

Case solved.

I'm glad to hear it! The folks at Vogons are pretty hard to beat when it come to vintage PC hardware.
