I'm looking into an upgrade to a laptop that has an 80C287 math coprocessor socket, so I checked ebay. Pretty thin availability there.
Any suggestions where to find these parts at a reasonable price?

I really only want it for running Matlab... can't think of any other application that makes this necessary.

thanks

You can get a 10 MHz IIT 2C87 for $19.95 from China on eBay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/393600487724

It is likely a repackaged chip (i.e. they recover an old die, put it in a new DIP and print new markings on it meant to imitate the original), but the Chinese Intel 8087 I got on eBay works fine despite having an obviously fake copyright date on it.
