SCSI CD changer question

I've been lucky to own a few CD changers over the years but they haven't been able to act in a manner that I wanted them to.

I want the drive setup in a way where only ONE cd drive appears to the OS, and software (or physical button) can change the disk in that drive. The ones I've owned all install themselves as multiple drives.

Am I missing something? I kinda want to run multi-cd games where just pressing the correct cd button loads the correct disk into the same drive letter.

I'm in no hurry on this, but before I scratch the itch that is 7th Guest and/or Riven, I kinda wanted to get a more elegant solution rather than use Daemon tools...

If you are using a a fairly modern windows you don't need Demon Tools and you can mount an ISO from PowerShell.

Kinda defeats the purpose a bit, eh?

Might sound crazy, but I prefer real hardware when possible.

Pioneer made a utility for their DRM-1804X (18 CD Changer) to make it visible as 1 Drive Letter, but I think it only worked like that under DOS.

Not at all, me too, , but I assumed when you mentioned deamon tools you were using them to mount ISO images, and they are not needed for that....
