Looking for specs of my Samsung CVP4237P monitor (9-pin)

mm k. I found this link -- Page 15
i guess i have a monitor with 9pins, but it has a 9pin to 15pin VGA cable.
i have seen this just a few times in my life and always wondered why the monitor is not 15pin.. and thought they may support cga/ega. i guess they only support VGA.
I'm not in the market for a cga or ega monitor.. but i got this one for free and it' fantastic condition.
*** This is a true VGA monitor. Does anyone know the logic on why the monitor would have 9 pin VGA, but the PC end of the cable would have 15 pin? ***

Well if the extra pins aren't needed, it's wasted cost, especially if DB15 connectors were more expensive than DB9 at the time, and if they were making CGA versions (I have a Samsung CGA) at the same time it'd mean they could use the same plastic case on multiple models without any changes to the case (other than stickers).

A lot of my VGA monitors don't even have a plug, just goes straight in to the back of the unit. R,G,B,Hysnc,Vsync,Ground - that's only 6 pins out of 9.
