How reliable is the Sega CD?

I got an idea a few months ago that once I am done rebuilding my latest slot machine I wanted to build a tabletop arcade cabinet with a CRT but instead of a JAMMA harness and a x-in-1 game it's a Genesis. Well I ended up tracking down a partially assembled Genesis 1 (which is a plus, because I can use the RGB out to tap into the CRT's Jungle chip) but I also received an unknown Sega CD so yay, I guess I can have the option of loading CD games as well. Turns out it works well still but I have not enjoyed much with either this console or the addon for years. How well have they been holding up in terms of reliability?

Mine's still working fine. Battery's dead, but IIRC this is a fairly simple fix. Only problem I've had with it was a blown fuse, which took me all of a minute to fix once the soldering iron'd warmed up.
