I remember my brother calling in to Chicago area and not so Chicago area boards when I was about 8 or so and then it was my turn a few years later when things were winding down when my brother got a PC and I got his 128.

I want to do what I never could (and still can't?) I want to run my own Commodore BBS. With the budget I have unfortunately the purchase of a lovely 64 or 128 plus drives, sweet sweet 1541 drives singing daisy to me, isn't in the cards. Me and the GF are saving up for a move to a bigger place. :) Has anyone gotten a Commodore BBS running on a PC with an emulator and if so I'd love to have a step by step instruction set on how to do it.

Yes, a few people have done this successfully. This website may be helpful for you: www.retrogradebbs.com There, you should find everything you need to run a BBS with Image or Color 64 software from an emulator. You should also check out the TelBBS Q&A board on the PETSCII Forums at http://jledger.proboards19.com. Methods for setting up a BBS in an emulator have been discussed at length in the past, so search through the message archive there.

I'm also willing to help you in any way I can. You can send me an e-mail any time at wiskow@gmail.com

I'm still working on this little project. I've been messing with color64 although not in any good way. Sometimes the software will load and all is well and other times things just hang. The hangs usually come after I've run the setup software. I don't know enough about the emulator or much else with regard to the Commodore. I think what I learned when I was between 8 and 12 wasn't as much as I thought! :p
