Ok, finally updating this post.

All boards are untested as I have no means of testing them!

Make an offer on one or all! I'm no expert on this stuff but I'm sure some is hard to find and I know old CPU's pull a premium on eBay. I'm all for making deals but please don't rip me off! haha

I have no idea what this stuff is, so I'll post all the info I see.

Pics here! http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v245/aaron7/motherboards/

Looking for an AT Faraday A-Tease board 80286/80287. 8Mz , 8 pheriphal slots. Anything like that laying around?

No... I actually... gulp... sold all my pre P4 stuff to a guy for scrap. These motherboards were buried so they survived.

Seems like people love XT's then just to 386's, the 286 is not the most loved processor Intel designed.

How do you get a 286 with 2 x 5 pin keyboard connections, are those PS/2 motherboards?

i have a soft spot for the 286, i love them. two of my most used computers are 286's... a tandy 1000tx, and a suntac mobo w/ a 286 @ 10 MHz + 1 MB RAM.

the suntac is what i developed that software that plays full screen color motion video w/ sound on. i can get 30 FPS @ 320x200 w/ 256-color on it. :)

(22050 hz 8-bit mono audio with it)

probably the only 286 in existance that plays a rickroll video from it's hard drive! :)

i would love to get another 8088 board from you, but i don't need to be spending any more money on those. i have four 8088's after all.

Cool, my LEO Computer 286 PC I have has a mobo with Suntac chipset..286 @ 12mhz 5 meg's of RAM
I havre to confess I haven't tried that vid. player of yours

Little known aspect is that most people went to the 286 AT for speed, not for memory, as initially there was darned little software out that could use the memory above 1MB (except for, say, Xenix). Even with the 286, EMS was pretty popular.

Overclocking got started really big when the 5170 came out, since changing the clock oscillator was pretty easy. There's a version of the 5170 BIOS that checks to make sure that your box is still running at 6MHz. Big Blue did not take kindly to customers "supercharging" their boxes.
