I been larking around here for sometime, and thought I would join up. I enjoy all vintage computers my 1st PC was a C64 loved it to death and still do and still have it. I have a very small collection and want to expand it, what's a vintage computer that's becoming popular and hot?

welcome,

Not sure what's hot and what's not but in my opinion, the popular "classic" micros of yesteryear will always be worth owning.

Ditto the welcomes, always comforting to see more folks coming ..aboard.. hm.. thanks Erik j/k

Up and coming systems are difficult to determine.. the market is really odd and it's always dependent on who's looking. Obviously the early S100 systems hold they're value but they also cost it. Micro computers are cute and easy to store but who knows if the value in them will really skyrocket. Essentially the less there were produced and over time the less that are functional the greater the value of the system.

Certainly the one that's surprised me in the last few years is the regular Nintendo (NES) and SNES finding their way into the collectible values (regular NES for around $100 now).

Hi Neighbor!!! :-D

Hello and welcome home! Northern Maine, eh? I've got a teacher from there, said she wouldnt wish it upon her worst enemy, lol. Pretty cold, apparently, and always dreary.

So Commodore, eh? Good stuff, I've got a few around here, but go figure all my PSUs for them are in WV. The C64, as you may know, was the single best selling computer of all time. IBMs lately have seen alot of attention on here, seems a few of us got NOS IBM PS/2 80s. Really though, they're all worth owning as Tezza touched on. I dont think there is really any "one" up and coming, they've all had their few years of fame. It seems to just be what your platform is. Really, though, the C64 still gets some attention today and will always be remembered for what it was--a great home computer and gaming platform that sold EXTREMELY well in the 80s.

Hello

Pretty much all the older Apple, Commodore, Timex, etc computers are hot. There are websites and forums setup for pretty much everything and people still buy them on ebay. Some systems still have new stuff (hardware and software made for them) like the Apple II and C64 systems.

Just because something is not discussed here that often doesn't mean another group at another place isn't nuts about it.

Thanks all for the warm welcomes. Looks like I might be looking for an apple system, any good places to get them?
