How to add shortcuts to programs to Win 3.1?

Would like to add some dos games as icons into Windows 3.1 but can seem to figure out how to add the icons in to run them that way.

In the Program Manager: File -> New. You may need to make a PIF (using the PIF Editor tool) in order to set up how much memory your game needs and to get it to play nice with other apps which may be running at the same time.

Thanks. I am running this on a PIII with 700 some odd megs of ram. Some of the games give me memory errors, I think maybe there is too much. Maybe that will help with that.

Way too much to do any good. Even Win95 couldn't use more than 64MB.

I'm pretty sure that 4MB was standard for Win3.1 and 8MB was considered to be optimal. I don't know how much 3.1 could address but I just got a "new" 486 Toshiba laptop and it can only accommodate a maximum of 20MB.
