I just found the board today and have spent hours reading through posts already. I have gone through phases of collecting computer and video game stuff in the last couple years. I have recently started to move more towards the old computers. My current collection includes Commodore VIC-20, 64, SX-64, 128, A500, A600, Apple IIe, IIc, II+, IIgs, Atari 2600, 800, Nintendos from NES to Game cube, Odyssey, Sega's from master system to dreamcast, TRS-80 MC-10 (my first pc), TRS-80 Model 1 (probably my rarest and most prized collection object), DEC 11/23+, Kaypro 2, Kaypro 10, Osbourne 1, TI-99/4a, Tons of handheld video games from DTV to Sega Nomad. Probably a 100 other things that are slipping my mind right now. My Holy Grail right now is probably a 128D but sadly they bring so much money that when I get a few bucks put aside I always end up getting something more obscure or interesting (like the Kaypro's or the DEC)

My girl friend made the mistake of telling me one time that filling the spare bedroom full of old video game stuff was a lot better than some other hobbies or habbits I could pick up, I just sort of started slipping the old computer stuff in as part of the deal :D

Um.. not sure how or what I was doing that day but a belated welcome to the forums :) That's an impressive collection of systems btw, sometimes instead of the larger amounts of money having some items to trade can be an advantage. I end up with duplicates once and a while (unfortunately I only have one 128D) but you never know who's out there and not interested in having multiples. One of the other vintage sites is pretty cool too about letting folks know what you have and if it's available for possible sale or trade.. http://www.old-computers.com/club/collectors/default.asp

You never know who's active or what they're collecting for. That's the funny and totally weird thing at some gaming conventions. It was kinda sad at one we had in Austin years ago but some tables were collectors selling (and I suppose they may have tested the products or perhaps had the boxes for games, but it didn't look like it.. just like ebay priced carts) then other tables had the same stuff and were obviously trying to get rid of it, for a few bucks. Crazy market out there.

Anyway, welcome and hope you enjoy the forums :)
